Hindsight is 20/20, but obviously it’d not have been tied at the end if we’d taken the points. Of course the game dynamics change based on decisions, so you can’t just assume all else would have been equal if we’d taken the FG then. But still, you take the FG. Even if we’d had made the conversion and scored a TD, I’d still be saying the same thing: take the points (unless it’s late and you know nothing less than a touchdown will do, but that’s not where we were). Because it can turn out the way it turned out today: you can walk away with zero and a momentum shift.
