Dellin made his season debut Sunday. He pitched .2 of an inning. He’s battled arm problems all year, with setbacks along the way. Now he comes back, just in time for the playoffs and has another serious injury. He hits free agency this fall while potentially rehabbing a torn Achilles. Ugh.
Other Yankees injury problems:
Giancarlo Stanton has 1 homer and has played less than 15 games. He came back for a week or so in June, and almost instantly suffered a new injury. He finally gets activated this week.
Luis Severino made his season debut tonight, after several setbacks this summer.
Gary Sanchez has battled multiple injuries and groin problems. He’s hoping to come back by the end of the season.
Edwin Encarnacion fractured part of his hand, came back, and got injured again with an oblique injury. He’s hoping to come back by the end of the season.
Speaking of oblique injuries, they’ve sidelined Edwin, Luke Voit, and Aaron Judge for significant time this year.
ROY runner-up Miguel Andujar hurt his shoulder and had season ending surgery.
Aaron Hicks has a flexor strain that is borderline whether he needs Tommy John surgery.
Plus a million others that add to a record setting year of players sent to the IL.
Nobody cares, I get it. Bleh.
