I wonder how much it has to do with the quarterback being able to get the ball at least in a catchable position. You can be an amazing receiver, but if the quarterback can't make the throw, there's nothing much you can do.
Maybe just recency bias but over the last couple of years, it seems a lot of balls we're thrown in the dirt, behind receivers, weak passes to the flats. The receiving game was weak and no separation (a lot of dropped balls), but the passing game didn't do them any favors.
Wilson has more confidence to put the ball in tight spaces, he can buy an extra second or two with his feet, which only helps the receiver. Do they look better? Sure, But I think a lot of it has to do with the quarterback.
