Technically they are included in the Nike deal... but there is a limited amount.
Nobody really knows what the Nike deal with BYU is...
but if we take a look at Utahs $65 million Under Armour deal, $48 million of that is 'product allowance'. That will cover shoes, uniforms, headbands, gloves... etc.
(Fun fact... UCLA's Under Armour contract is for $280 mil 🙂 )
Utah does all the cool hand-painted helmets each year with donor money. They then auction off the helmets for charity. It would be cool to see BYU do something like this. Lots of BYU fans would pay an arm/leg/firstborn to have a game-worn helmet.
