remember things being directed at the band in general, but in 2002 there were Utah fans getting up in the face of band members and yelling and screaming at them with a number of the things being yelled directed not only at BYU but also at the LDS church in general. Also, I remember the MUSS throwing things at the BYU band in 2006 when they were on the sidelines waiting to perform as well. In addition, in 2008 I also remember the Utah women's basketball coach being very annoyed with the BYU band as they were again lining up to perform at halftime. I forget why, but she was also waiting to go on the field for something and outwardly showed her displeasure of having to wait near the BYU Band while the first half ended.

Now, I know that the majority of the Utah fans at the game would never behave in that manner and would typically frown on that sort of behavior from their fanbase. However, it doesn't make the presence of these sorts of behaviors any less real.
