The idea is to get debt free as fast as possible.
The people he is trying to help are usually 100% clueless about finances. So he is just having them get as agressive as possible, getting wins to pay off all their debt asap, and stay out of debt.
You can definitely nitpick his steps all over the place where mathmatically there are better options. His reply is, "if you were doing math, you wouldnt have consumer debt."
