Watching Pedro in the 1998-2002 timeframe was unreal
Every Sox fan knew the pitching rotation and what night Pedro would be pitching. Everyone tuned in to those games and at least watched until Pedro gave up a hit. He spun some unbelievable games and within those games he had amazing battles with individual hitters-sometimes leaving them looking baffled at the plate. He was truly a master. That he never had a perfect game or a no-no is both sad and almost unfair to him.

In 1995, when pitching for the Expos, he retired the first 27 batters in a game, but had zero run support through 9. In the top of the 10th, the Expos got a run and Pedro came out to start the 10th where he gave up a double to the lead off hitter. He was then pulled, Mel Rojas relieved him, got the 3 outs and the Expos won the game, but Pedro didn’t get credit for either a perfect game or a no-hitter. For lack of a nail....
