You bring/scream them out... so by the time you actually see anyone the fans/students should be at such a fever pitch that it blows the top off.

The issue with the pre-game hype stuff is that it doesn't start soon enough not that it starts too soon. It should be a frenzy by the time the first player shows up in the tunnel.
