We’ve seen over and over that any team with a good qb and solid OL will carve up our soft zone and lack of pass rush, Washington and Yewtah being the most recent two games. Our rush defense alignment on first downs often leaves two big gaps over the guards.
Offensively we lack skill player talent, notable at Wr and rb. Having a guy like Williams has made a big difference. Byu’s Honor code and academics standards don’t need to be eliminated, but changes could be made so that there more football player friendly. There are at least two players at Yewtah that came to byu first and were denied admission.
Holmoe schedules like we’re P5 and a top25 program. Someone send him a memo to let him know we blew that chance. Less sarcastically, do we really have to start every year with 4 solid P5 games? The schedule would still be solid if we threw in one home gimmie like every other big program. We might be able to get 7 home games (extra revenue) if we did that as well.
