I always loved Coach Rose and am grateful for what he did, especially in his first 7 or 8 years. But it was evident the players were not playing well as a team or to the best of their ability. Looking at last year, there were a few games when they did step up and play at a higher level, like blowing out a very good USU team, or beating up St. Mary's at home. But much of the time they were playing beneath what was possible, IMO. I like what Pope has said so far about being relentless, and I believe we'll see them reach their highest levels more often, just like we saw in Rose's teams his first several years. Given the change, I think it's hard to say yet if they can or can't make the NCAA tournament. We'll see. If they don't, well, they haven't since 2015 either, but I think it's looking better for the future with the players coming in.
