Admittedly I have not read the suit Petke filed or the full response RSL released yesterday. But I have read a few summaries in the media and the highlights being pulled out do not look good for Mike Petke. Frankly, he probably should have taken Hansen's offer for a resignation with a small payout. That would have preserved his potential job prospects in the US going forward. Instead Petke forced the firing, filed suit and decided to spread gasoline through the RSL Office hallways then toss in a match. I don't think he works in coaching again anytime soon.

Within days he took GM Craig Waibel down with him. Somehow Zarkos has remained but that could be some of Petke's claims being unsubstantiated. Petke feels hard done but his actions led to this. His contract seems to give RSL and MLS the full rights to do what they did and Mike Petke wanted none of it. I liked him as a person... but now I am glad he's gone and we can move past it. There are still plenty of legal wranglings to get through but it seems that Petke was toxic and leaving will benefit RSL.
