but you can get a cheap Hotel to stage a trip into the NP. The largest tree in the world (YES THE WORLD) is in Sequoia National Park and it doesn't disappoint. We did some quick hikes and without getting into the back country saw several bears. Recommended. Moro Rock is also very fun and quick. Gives you a tiny glimpse what it is like on the half dome hike up the cables but with 1/20th the effort.

Kings canyon is only ok. You can easily see each park in a day each.
