...place. Most universities will have multiple sections of the same class, each at different times of day or on different days of the week. If you have to take the exams in class instead of in a testing center, those in the first class finish the exam several hours or a full day before students in another similar section. I agree that the testing center approach of giving you several days to take the exam exacerbates this issue, but the notion that some students could take an exam and share information with others who are still waiting to take it is not novel or unique to BYU.
