So, in California, they are shutting down the power grid to prevent forest fires.

PG&E got hit will a multi-billion dollar lawsuit, so they are trying to dramatically reduce risk.... so turning off the power is one way to make sure that they can't be blamed.

BUT, I think, overall, that is probably higher risk of fire in the State overall.

I think, but I certainly don't know, that the risk of fire from say 1000 portable generators (or maybe 10,000 I don't know) is higher than the risk of 1 high voltage transmission line serving 1000 customers.

What do you think? Is s 1000 generators more or less risky than 1 power line?
