Let’s talk about attendance after November. BYU is going to set records.
I am not sure what you are holding out for but we are witnessing a slow death. Independence has not been good. The “just win” strategy is ridiculous.

It boils down to something pretty simple. What is our viable future when we are not winning? Is Independence a viable long term strategy? I see no evidence. Independent teams rely on their own merits to survive. Fan attendance will fall off a cliff after Boise... and maybe for the Boise game. It will not recover next year. It is going to be very ugly. We have been in decline for years.

Independence is not working. If you think it will work, I would like to hear the reasoning that goes beyond, “just win” and discuss what we do if we don’t win. In a conference you can survive these cycles and still have a good last half of your schedule when the first half leaves you 2-4. In independence there is literally nothing to play for beyond a nothing-bowland nobody to play. It stinks.

So, we are left with joining a conference. No P5 will have us. Anything you say that is bad about the AAC is likely far worse with the MWC. The AAC is by far the best viable option. Sure, a best-of-the-rest would be better, but no such thing is likely to exist. The MWC is dead if BYU takes Boise.

Basketball would be incredible in the AAC.

We need to choose the best viable option and independence or MWC are not it.
