Changes needed at BYU:
1) Eliminate the requirement that the head coach be a member of the Church. There are great people who can/will inspire young men to hold to their values, whatever they are, without being a member of the Church. Does BYU really have that much pride (not the good kind) that it can't expand it's vision?

2) Give the athletic department its own Honor Code "ministers", one male (for the guys) and one female (for the girls), that the athletes can go to without fear of reprisal (within reason, obviously). Help them to learn and grow. Don't throw them out. If not this, do something....anything. The status quo isn't working.

3) STOP with the suicidal gauntlet at the beginning of the season. If BYU is forced to play 4 straight P5s, or worse, at the start of the season in order to get them on the schedule, say "No, thank you." This idiocy is killing BYU.

4) Hire a real strength and conditioning coach.

5) Let the big money donors donate to the athletic department how they want to. Quit diverting their donations away from football and, to a lesser extent, mens' basketball. Without those programs, the other sports at BYU are like the Titanic financially.
