Recruiting has improved - problem is our coaching has not, and our schedule
difficulty has gone up; so while we are seeing some really good wins (ie USC this year, Wisconsin last year) which shows off the talent level is actually there, we are seeing really really bad consistency which is a coaching thing. BYUs most recent feature RB had 100+ yds last night and a TD on Monday Night Football; you can't convince me they aren't recruiting talent.

Bronco would have killed to have the overall talent we see on the defensive side of the ball while he was here. People look at standout players like Cody Hoffman or Austin Collie and say "We aren't getting the same talent" - well, my opinion is that we actually are, but our offensive staff isn't putting together plays and schemes to get them the ball.

Gunnar Romney is a stud - he can make catches that none of the rest of the WR group can; problem is, he gets only like 2-3 targets per game. Cody Hoffman was getting like 15 targets a game - big difference. Same with Bushman - he just doesn't get the ball as much as he should. Grimes seems to think offenses are only a 5 yard down the field type system; there needs to be way more slants and routes run to spread the field. Then IMO you'll see the talent shine through.
