I didn't watch the game but listened to the KSL archive. Read a ton of posts (looked like a repeat loop from the past 3 weeks) on CB, nothing really Earth-shattering, but I think there are some issues the coaches can improve and others the coaching staff has no control of its just football. The big issue (not much coaches can do) - depth, our running backs are not getting it done after Tyson's injury. This could also be the RPO scheme we're running and the injuries decimating the offensive line, but it's a big problem we can't run consistently. We run the ball effectively we control the game, we get in the endzone easier in the RedZone. You can claim recruiting, is the answer (and it is the answer) but in the middle of the season, we can't do a whole lot. The next guys up could be coached up better, but then again, they probably are getting coached up, but experience in a game is a big deal so not having it is killing us in critical situations at the end of a game.

Issues we can fix.. Tackling, tackling, tackling, tackling and playing better run defense. This is completely an issue Tuiaki SHOULD be able to fix in practices. Those trying to defend him or the coaching staff do need to understand this isn't something that you can sweep under the rug due to injuries. Tui is responsible for the scheme, it's implementation and making adjustments through the game. The problem is the defense is not getting any better and it's against sub-standard competition where we see the same problems over and over again.

Redzone!!! - This alone would have won both the Toledo and USF games. Just flipping get it in the endzone coaches. Design plays that WORK, practice them OVER and OVER again, make sure the players who can execute are in on those plays and get the stinking points!!! How hard is that as a concept?? Seriously have never followed a BYU team that struggles so much with finishing drives. Those two fixes would give us at least 2 more wins, even with the injuries.
