agreed - the real question is... when he's done with football, how much money will his cash earn each year in order to
supplement his other income?
Will he have $1M of cash when he's done? Most NFL guys don't and it's not a good sign that he spent $7k on one meal (I REALLY hope Takitaki has much more than $1M when he's done).
Assume he does end his career with $1M in the bank... He can make maybe $80k/year in dividends - so perhaps $50k/year after taxes/tithing?
What other skills does he have and how much is he going to make from his next career?
At his age... imagine what that $7k would have turned into when he was 65 and looking to retire. (About $125,000)
