Would you take South of the GSL?
Horseshoe Springs is not far off of I-80 on BLM land - there's some dry camping right there next to it.
I'm assuming there's likely places west of the lake, but never been there myself. Probably not organized campsites, but placed you could pull off and camp if you wanted to.
