Don’t get me wrong, Romney looked alright last week, but Critchlow has started before, and has several years of training and experience at the college level under the belt. He can sling it. Hard to imagine he’s not more ready for leading against a top 25 team than Romney, and I’d love to see Critchlow get the nod if Hall is out.
I get starting a younger QB to give him experience for later on, but with the way the year is going and the tight leash on the coaching staff, I don’t think Sitake has the luxury of planning for the future and not starting any QB besides the one who gives the team the best chance to win, now.
On the other hand, if after months of practice and evaluation coaches have determined that Romney is simply the superior QB, then by all means let him play.
