I used to work close to the homeless shelter. (About 2 blocks west of the Vivint Arena where the Jazz play) Dodged feces, vomit and needles almost daily. Not saying it's a SF like problem, but that area can REALLY be bad. The city somewhat cleaned up that area several years ago with stronger police presence. The homeless have just moved to other areas, including downtown.
