The true villian professors would write their own text book and put assignment
pages in it that had to be removed, completed, and turned in. This way, there effectively couldn't be a used market for their books because you couldn't do the assignments. Their justification was that supposedly if they did this and wrote their own books they could influence the publisher to sell it cheaper. Sure...
