It totally matters. Finishing ranked with the majority of
talent coming back would likely get us ranked in the preseason top 25. Preseason top 25 is the dumbest thing ever, but it matters. If we’re lucky enough to start next year ranked and start the season say 5-1, we’d be in major talks of NY6.
Utah’s preseason ranking this year is basically why they’re in talks for the playoff right now. Who have they beaten this year to merit a top 10 ranking? Preseason rankings matter, therefore end of year rankings matter
