I remember when they were replacing Carrol the talk was all about how hollywood USC is - and you need someone with the personality and ability to deal with the stars walking the sidelines, etc.
Now - maybe that was a stretch and maybe it was more something that Carrol played to, so maybe it isn't a full requirement.
But I have a hard time seeing Whittingham doing well there - if he ever wanted to go there. I think with the talent - he would have a top 5 defense every single year. I worry about the offense. I know this year has been different - but I'm not convinced that KW isn't still that guy who wants to run the ball, run the ball, run the ball - and then win with defense.
And after their history - I think USC fans and boosters want something a little more exciting.
He would likely do well there - I just don't know how he'd do with the fans and boosters expectations. Just win, and maybe it doesn't matter. But I think they want more excitement.
