You're logic of Alabama not needing to cheat doesn't make sense to me. You could say the same about Ohio State now, or USC back when they were in trouble. USC was the "IT" program back in the day, and one could argue that the program recruited whoever it wanted, especially with its location. To say that Alabama doesn't need to cheat implies that other blue blood schools do need to cheat, and I just don't think that's the case. The top programs put plenty of guys into the NFL, not just Alabama, so none of them "need" to cheat, anymore than Alabama needs to cheat with Saban at the helm.
