lack of growth. This team shows it has the talent to beat good teams then lacks the discipline, coaching or focus to beat average or bad teams. I thought we had turned a corner after Wisconsin. Nope. I thought we had turned the corner during the first half of the Utah game last year. Nope. The bowl victory last year? Nope. The USC and TN games this year? No. Finally, they come out and beat BSU and clobber USU so now it looks like we finally put it all together and, you guessed it, a close win over Liberty.

I want Sitake to grow into the job but it seems like we don’t learn from previous mistakes. I think the decision to fake the field goal last night was a perfect example of the weirdness we have come to expect from this team. We have the talent but do we have the coaching, the discipline and the schemes to move forward? Not looking good. Glad they won but it felt like a step back.
