this year was the home opener against the Utes. Our players talked all summer about how it was the most important game and I know the coaches were in their ears telling them the same thing. THEY HAD TO WIN THAT GAME! For status, for recruiting, for hope!!

KS and his staff had the entire summer to prepare. We had a “star” QB returning. An o-line that was supposed to be equal to their D line, a stud grad transfer RB from the SEC and a ton of excitement around the program. They took all of that and got absolutely handled on our home field.

We’ll have plenty of good moments and a lot more bad moments against P5 competition but in my opinion that game, that lack of preparation and understanding of the moment by Kalani showed me exactly what we’re gonna be for YEARS to come. Granted Utah is legit this year but still KS didn’t have the guys ready to compete.

Kalani and his staff might be the best we can do today but I think they get routinely out coached and/or maybe more likely just don’t have the stable of horses to compete at the level we dream of.
