I'd make sure to win the Utah game and then start looking for a better coaching job elsewhere. It's just a dumb, unreasonable ultimatum. Thanks to it's affiliation, Utah has been given multiple advantages that BYU just cannot keep up with. BYU will always be limited by the very small pool of players it can recruit from. Frankly speaking, while I am absolutely NOT a fan of BYU going back to a G5 conference, I am a fan of Dropping the Utah Game and focusing on making Boise State our rival instead. Unlike the PAC12's stupid plan to try and make Utah and Colorado rivals (Colorado doesn't seem to care, nor does Utah), Boise actually has interest in becoming a rival and already, to some extent, considers itself as such. They are also, in my opinion, more beatable by BYU on a regular basis. With many Utah fans already claiming that BYU needs Utah more than Utah needs BYU, this would be a great way for BYU to prove them wrong and move on.
