Is it too early for this? Tell us your ruined Thanksgiving horror stories...
I've got two stories to share.

First - after I was first married, we went to an extended Thanksgiving dinner with my wife's family. One of her uncles had been diagnosed with diabetes, so that aunt and uncle volunteered to bring all of the pies. And all of the pies were made sugar free with whole wheat crusts. Every. Single. One. Like they were going to eat all of them! Come on - think of the rest of us when you're baking a couple of those. We had make a couple of our own pies to eat the following day to save the holiday.

Second - after a pretty good meal, it was time for pie. Again - this was an extended family dinner, but this time on my side of the family. As they were passing out pieces of pumpkin pie, they didn't have any whipping cream on them. I took a bite, and it was OK. But just not the same without whipping cream. So my crazy redneck uncle comes into the room with a large bowl of whipping cream and asks "who needs some whipping cream?!?" Of course I waved him over, and he drops a large dollop right in the middle of the pie. Awesome. Then I took a bite. Awesome never went to awful so fast. Uncle redneck raises goats. Come to find out he'd brought some goat cream to whip up, and then failed to add any sugar when he did so. Yuck.
