Hopefully your new president can change things. It's going to be tough as half of the faculty are doing literally nothing and it's tough to get competent workers to move to Pocatello.
ISU depends far too heavily on foreign students. This drives away the local population and honestly makes the ISU experience a bit abnormal (to put it nicely). Student attendance has steadily decreased the past few years.
Student attendance at athletic events is almost non-existent. I don't know why students don't go to basketball games, but I'm guessing $35/seat may be a factor. Can't even fill a 5k arena. I went to a dozen games two years ago and I'd guess there were less than 200 students there.
Campus is a dead zone. Walk around campus during the day. Feels like a cemetery.
Technical departments (like EE) refuse to work with local businesses who are begging for technical graduates. Stupid stupid stupid.
I think Pocatello is a nice town and there is so much potential at ISU. I wish nothing but the best. Look at the success of BYU-I. There is little reason why ISU can't be similarly successful.
