It’s illogical to have a unified national championship when you are excluding half the teams before anybody has played a game.
That is what we have now. A full ½ of FBS teams have absolutely 0 opportunity for a national championship before they step on the field. Not because they aren’t good enough or aren’t skilled enough or because they don’t deserve a chance. But because the system is rigged against them.
