I think the "kid from AF" you're talking about is Trey Stewart.  He is a legitimate 6'3" and extremely strong and athletic, currently on his mission in England.  Or, you may be referring to Spencer Johnson who just signed with the Cougs, also from AF, also 6'5", like Saunders.  No one has any idea how good any of these kids will be at BYU, but I trust that Pope knows who they are and what they can do. 

Let's not forget that Jake Toolson (ESPN 2-star coming out of HS) wasn't successful at BYU under Dave Rose, went to UVU and blossomed under Pope.  Could Pope work that same magic with other kids?  Absolutely!  How is Craig Smith doing it at USU with Sam Merrill (2 stars), Abel Porter (1 star), and Brock Miller (3 stars)?  All are RM's from Utah.  Seriously people, settle down and let the kids play, you might be surpised what happens!
