Another unpopular take
And yes, while Rudolph had a right to be upset about being driven to the turf, he escalated it by trying to pull Garrett's helmet off. Hopefully, Rudolph gets fined.

This entire thing is getting overblown. I woke up expecting to see one of the worst acts of violence in NFL history which is exactly what Kevin Seifert of SI called it. Sorry, not even close. Go back and look at the Turkey Jones attempted crippling of Terry Bradshaw or Charles Martin ruining Jim McMahon's shoulder — both well after the whistle when the player was defenseless. Those are right off the top of my head because they were nationally televised games.

I'm not saying what Garrett did does not deserve being suspended for the rest of the year. We shouldn't see him until next season. But he swung a helmet (and yes I know Mason Rudolph had a bad concussion this year) while being held back. Before I actually saw what happened, I thought he put Rudolph in the hospital from the reports I was reading. About 10 years ago I remember some guy ripping another player's helmet off and then stomp on his face with his cleats. Now that was vicious. This was not as bad as that.
