Malathion All-American
I have lots of coats on my rims and it’s hard to scratch even off-road. I’ve
never removed it so at this point it’s almost like a paint. I touch it up lightly once a year as rotating the tires can sometimes scratch the lug. Again, when applied thick, it’s pretty tough.

Black is the best as it matches the tires in color so no need to clean up overspray or mask the tire off. I stuff paper bags in the wheels to cover the rotors, spray and wait 30+ minutes before removing the plastic bags.

I don’t know if I would do a whole car though. I did the grill on my wife’s car and although tough, rocks at highway speed can chip it off. I’ve also done some interior pieces without issue. Remove the pieces, spray, dry and install.

Note gasoline breaks down plasti-dip pretty easily and it seems like the area around the gas gap would get messed up due to gas spills. Maybe get a vinyl wrap instead. It would be more consistent and would be more durable long term.
