100% correct this time: BYU strength is age. But in BB, there's no net advantage
to leave the game and conditioning for two years.

It's a big negative in sports where top conditioning is #1.

That disadvantage is somewhat offset by intellectual maturity. But the net is a negative in basketball, IMO. If i had a son with excellent pro potential in basketball, i would advise no mission. You can do more good by becoming great.

In football and baseball where conditioning is a lower priority, i believe missions are a net plus for BYU. Most here don't agree with me on that.

What the Houston coach said was correct, but like some, he probably doesn't let himself see the other side of it which is a disadvantage to BYU.
