I'm so proud of this team. We haven't gotten a win like that in awhile, where we have a team on par or rated above us (especially considering the injuries and suspensions we currently have) and we have held our own throughout the game and just gutted out a great win at the end. We showed composure and mental toughness! Loved it!

This team is showing huge fight. Even in the SDSU loss, I was proud of the fight that we had shown (I was more excited about the SDSU loss, than the Liberty win in football haha).

I'm excited what Pope brings and he's got these kids really working hard. Glad Kolby Lee had a good game and can shows some stats behind his hard work. Hopefully he continues to be able to have some direct impact on the stat sheet these next couple of weeks. Nixon making some 3s has been so huge. His job is to do so much of the dirty work, great to see him bury some shots. Seljaas also has shown huge toughness.

Now, when Yoeli comes back, I hope we continue with this toughness and grind it out mentality instead of showing mental fatigue and just expecting Yoeli to take care of business.

Yoeli is a great player. A top forward for BYU in the last 25 years for sure. That being said, he can't take games over without the rest of the team still going at full speed. His presence will open things up for other guys, Toolson and Haws will have more room to work. Barcello and his pick n roll game with Yoeli are going to be so great (wish we had more time to see it)!

Coach Pope and staff will have another challenge in keeping everyone focused and moving forward once he comes back. Those first 3-4 games give Yoeli no time to warm up. He's gotta come out ready to play massive defense and show he can pass out of double teams and go strong inside instead of settling for the fadeaway shots over the back end of the key.

This team has the mental fortitude to make a run at the NCAAs and get BYU Basketball back on the map!
