I came into this rivalry as a complete outsider, I am telling you what I see.
I don't know if they are exaggerating, or if they are telling the truth. But plenty of Utah fans have told me that BYU fans were relentless smack-talkers back in the 80's. Obviously those people believe that it is the BYU fans' fault that they are so anti-BYU. Those people will talk smack to you and enjoy any BYU defeat for the rest of their lives. And they fully believe that you as a fanbase deserve it.
