It is interesting that he played in the Tennessee game.
Obviously they liked him early, and probably didn't plan to redshirt him, but then decided to shut him down for a while. Putting him in the USU game was probably a waste.

And if those meaningful snaps help BYU win the games, that's still an overall

No, but the meaningless snaps early in the season are, like I stated in my OP.

Haven't redshirting players always been able to play in bowl games?

Right, which is why I question the coaching staff. They obviously made conscious

Seems like Hill will play against UMASS and then not again.

I agree, I just think he could play meaningful snaps against SDSU or the bowl

What kind of snaps did he play in the Tenn game?

No idea. That’s just what it said in the article.

I didn't expect you to know. More of an open ended question. It probably wasn't

Don't forget the new rule where a player can play in up to 4 different games and preserve their redshirt.

As long as they stop at 4 and don't need them later

Does it matter? They aren’t high on the depth chart or they would be playing

Maybe not as freshman but we may wish they had another year in 2023

By my comment I mean just redshirt them.

It does matter. It's small attention to detail that seperates the average from

Hill is, and he would be playing if there are injuries

Both Jackson Kaufusi and Wilgar redshirted? What are you smoking right now?

Last year they did. Jackson was shut down before the Utah gave last year.
