I've bought 2 vacuums in 22 years. A used Kirby in 1997 and a used Dyson in 2014
They both still work very well. I paid about $200 for the Kirby and $100 for the Dyson.
My wife got "suckered" into a new Kirby from a door to door guy. I made him come back and pick it up. I bought the used one on Ebay the next day. One of my greatest money saving moves ever.
