I got the $500 LG and it seems fine
I suppose it doesn't have the wow factor of $1000 and $2000 TV's but it seems good enough.
My other TV is a 1080p 48" Vizio and I like the image on it. The LG image can be awesome or average, it seems to depend greatly on the quality of the video feed. I hate the remote on the Vizio and the LG remote is much better.
On streaming, I do wonder if more expensive TVs have better streaming. My LG is good but there is audio lag and the browser app for BYU-tv is jittery. I plan to get a ROKU anyways.
