I think we feel that if KS does make changes then there will be hope.

I think that is why people are hoping something will change. I agree I don't think extending KS was the way to go. There were just 2-3 teams that let their coach go after 4 years of .500 record. But if we can't get that then I think most have hope he will at least hold the others accountable, but I don't think any of us are holding their breath.
