Honestly, the appropriate response to that is, “sure, but who cares?”
I don’t eat meat because I “need it” to build muscle. I eat it because I like it, and because I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it.
If I ever stop liking it, I’ll stop eating it. And if I ever become convinced that eating it is immoral, I’ll stop eating it.
