I guess in your scenario of Virginia getting blown out by 40, there is a slim chance the committee drops them from the top 25 so no one in the ACC besides Clemson would be ranked, but just based on history alone, the committee is very forgiving for championship losses. I also don't see Virginia getting blown out by 40. As long as they keep it at least somewhat close, I think they are in the Orange Bowl.
