Why would BYU pay a rookie unproven coach like Sitake as much as Ken

N? It's not like BYU pays the maximum salary it is willing to pay for a coach in general. They pay the max they need to get the coach they want. If they want Ken N., they would pay him more. Why would he be taking a pay cut?
