The weird thing is if you watched and had to name the more aggressive team
anyone would say Utah. The impact of all of the phantom/bogus calls was that BYU became more
timid on defense which played right into the hands of the Utes (and the refs?).

Fouls called on Utah's opponents: 28(E), 29, 16, 23, 25(L), 25, 12(L), 20, 29

Your logic is unsound. You claim it wasn't the fouls but the loss of players.

In other words, Utah places an emphasis on "drawing fouls"

So then BYU should have had a massive spike in fouls against Kansas. Oh wait, they didn't.

it's called flopping. Easy 6-7 fouls on BYU were Utah flops. Even got warned for

Kansas is way more athletic and a lot bigger than Utah. There was no massive spike in fouls by BYU in that game
