The SEC, BIG and B12 could fill all of their commitments. 

The Dec. 31 Liberty Bowl picked up 9-2 Navy in the SEC's spot, to play Kansas State.

(That allowed Liberty to get the AAC's spot in the Cure Bowl). 

The Jan. 2 Birmingham Bowl picked up Boston College to fill the SEC's spot to play Cincinnati. 

I would have taken either of those bowl games. 

I prefer Hawaii Bowl matchup with Hawaii over either Tulane or Southern Miss in the Jan. 4 Armed Forces Bowl or WMU or WKU in the Dec. 30  First Responder Bowl. But I absolutely disdain the Christmas Eve timeslot.
