Interesting history between both.
Couple interesting points.
I never knew the college All-Stars played the pros every year and the last game was in 1976.
I knew college football was much more popular than pro football but I did not realize how everyone looked at pro football as a second rate league. Especially the college coaches.
And then the NFL got wildly Popular when they combined with the AFL and started the Super Bowl and had fun dynamic offenses. This is where it passed the college game with what is called 3 yards and a cloud of dust (very boring football)
Then they dedicated five minutes to show how BYU completely changed the entire college football perspective in the early 80s to again compete with the NFL regarding popularity of the sport and become exciting product to watch.
I know a lot about BYU football history and how they started the air raid but I did not realize before then how the public viewed college football as a boring 3 yards and a cloud of dust compared to the NFL.
Not only did BYU change everything about college football to make it become more popular again but it really emphasized how great of a coach Lavelle was. Boy that man was something else.It sure is great to be part of a big changing point in football history.
