It will work. The trick is finding the wire from the doorbell intercom outside and figure out
where that same wire and inside the main unit. Just unhook that wire from inside the main unit and re-hook it to the transformer as I explained below.
I was able to locate the correct wire when I did my own install by finding the wire labeled doorbell inside my main intercom unit. I just use that wire by attaching it to the transformer inside and the same wire attached to the new doorbell outside.

That little motherboard has a pos and neg terminal and it was the wires that connected there that I tried to use to
