Money is always a factor but it's not simply a matter of BYU offering him the same as other big schools. He needs to fall in love with BYU even more and somehow come to feel like he wants to stay here for a very long time. I can confirm that BYU isn't currently viewed as his dream destination, which is fine. Most coaches in any sport aren't currently at their dream destination school.
He'd jump at the chance to coach at Kentucky if ever given the opportunity. He still loves Kentucky and for good reason. And who could blame him. That's not the only school that appeals to him either. He likes the level those school play at and the caliber of talent those schools attract. With that said, he really likes coaching at BYU and he likes the state of Utah. But his early ties aren't to this state or to BYU.
